EUSMAT organizes different events for international master and PhD students as well as post-docs working in experimental and/or modeling/simulation in any field of materials science and engineering.

In September 2023, EUSMAT hosted in Saarbrücken the NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2023 with the topic Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering.

Participants learned about the FAIR principles and the fundamentals of scientific metadata as well as some important tricks about programming with python and machine learning with neuronal networks. They were also able to visit the German Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Workshops on Research Data Management Plan (RDMP) and Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs) were hold by professional speakers.

The NFDI-MatWerk Summer School 2024 – Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering will take place in September 2024 in Bremen, Germany.

Alumni Meetings

Similarly, EUSMAT organizes regularly Network-Meetings for alumni of our international programmes!

The activities within EUSMAT’s 4th International Network Meeting, with the support of the DAAD, will include a one-week meeting in presence (June 2025) as well as a virtual lecture series (November 2024).
